Meet Alia from Lebanon and currently living in Fort Lauderdale Florida. She is studying to become a Physical Assistant. This story was submitted in collaboration with ENVSN.
What did you study?
I Studied Neuroscience and am currently getting my Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies. I hope to go into Aesthetic Dermatology or Plastic Surgery.
What is a challenge you have faced or currently face and how are you overcoming it?
Being away from my friends and family while being in school has been tough. I am pushing through keeping my eye on the prize! I have one more year of my program and I’ll be a Physician Assistant. My end goal is what encourages me to get through my day to day.
What does it mean for you to be powerful?
Power is having control over my life, my spirit and happiness. Being happy within and at peace with yourself makes you feel like the most powerful person in the world. For me, helping others also gives me a great sense of power, it allows me to know that with nothing I can do something for others.
Do you have a favorite product or item you love that makes you feel great?
It can be clothing, soap, socks, or anything. My favorite item at the moment is a wood wick Yankee candle! The crackling noise helps soothe my evening, and I have one lit every time I am home and studying.
What are your passions, hobbies, interests?
I love doing make up! Making women feel beautiful and giving them a sense of empowerment is my goal. Everyone has unique beauty and I love bringing it out so they can flawlessly show the world.
