Meet Katie Longmyer currently living in New York City. Katie is a musician and creative.  This story was submitted in collaboration with ENVSN.

What did you study in school and why?

I was a music major – Cello specifically.  My life has been dedicated to magic of where music, creativity and community meet since Day 1.

What is your job/career?

I’m the Founder + CEO of Good Peoples, a platform designed to create, amplify and cultivate projects and partnerships rooted in culture. My favorite description of my job is: My profession is an art form of mysticism, creativity, quantum physics, law of attraction, motivation and love.

What is a challenge you have faced or currently face and how are you overcoming it?

Putting as much effort into myself as I do into my work is one of the hardest things for me to tackle. I’ve made a commitment to myself to carve out personal time every morning. As a result there is a domino effect of good self-care including going to bed earlier, partying a little less, and taking that time to work out or reflect which makes me better throughout the day.  If I can do it for my work, I can do it for myself. Making that commitment to myself definitely pushes me into better work/life balance.

What does it mean for you to be powerful?

I feel the most powerful when I can give my power away, when I am so comfortable and strong in where I sit in my power I do not need the shine, the last word, the cash, etc. I can come from a place of abundance and not scarcity.

Do you have a favorite product or item you love that makes you feel great? It can be clothing, soap, socks, or anything.

My very first layer of every day – my DSTM  lingerie.

What are your passions, hobbies, interests?

Music, traveling and food (cooking it and eating it!). I love enjoying creativity in tactile ways!
